Bugaboo footmuff - worth it?

I am thinking of getting the Bugaboo Frog footmuff for the winter. We live in the Midwest. DD will be 1 in January and likely toddling about.

Do you use the footmuff? Is it worth the $$$$? Do you still use a winter coat under it? Anyting else I should consider?

I love the footmuff... We are in Boston and it has been great. Stroller is our main mode of transportation so it is important for the boys to be warm.. I need to get another footmuff for my Jane so both boys are covered, but the bugaboo muff works with it too...

Yes, yes, yes!! We love ours - it's a staple on our bugaboo from October until April! It's so soft and I love that you can tuck your child's head right into it and tighten up the strings. It's like a toddler mummybag! We still do use a coat under it but you wouldn't need a full snowsuit. Of course if you're in warmer weather you wouldn't need a coat at all - just zip up!

I love the footmuff also! It makes the stroller so soft and comfortable. Wish I had something like this for myself! :-) I like how you can tighten the footmuff. My only concern is that my 8 month old DD likes to chew on it. I think the beads are choking hazards so I double tighten the pieces. I'm debating about taking it off but I like the ability to tighten it. But overall I do love it.

I love it and I live in a very warm climate but even in our mild winters it's such a comfy thing to have. DS loves it too and can fall asleep in it. We visited NYC last Dec. and it was an absolute lifesaver - allowed us to prowl the city even on the chilliest days. DS fell asleep in it often he was so cozy, and he's 3yo and does not fall asleep in the stroller often.
