View Full Version : Which all-terrain stroller is best as an only stroller?

Due to tight space restrictions, we'd like to buy only one main stroller, and then later a lightweight umbrella for quick trips. We definitely need an all terrain because we live in a rural area on a dirt and gravel road. But, I'm also a shop-a-holic, so I need something that works at the mall, Target, etc. Also need a good sized canopy to keep the sun out. We live in Louisiana, so no snow to deal with and we are far enough from the coast (I think) to not have to worry about rust. Our top choice so far is the Bob Revolution, and our second fave is the Baby Jogger City Series. Is it possible that one of these could serve as our only stroller? I've heard a lot of people recommend the Mountain Buggy, but after trying all three in the store, I don't like it as much as the other two.

The 2006 BOB Revolution has 16" rear wheels. That is pretty big and cumbersome for indoors. It also doesn't recline much. For 2007, they will make a model with a full recline, and 12" rear wheels. If you are set on the BOB, then wait for that one. Otherwise, I would try and get the smallest A/T possible.

I have the Revolution, and i LOVE it, and i have a Maclaren Triumph and Zooper Swing. The Revolution is too big to use at the mall as it won't fit through tight aisles of clothing stores where they really cram the racks together. It also won't fit in some restaurants where the tables are closeby. There just isn't enough space. I would definately get a nice umbrella stroller but those often have small baskets and don't work for longer outings. But, you could probably live with it.
Hope this helps,
Darcy

I thought the BOB was the narrowest of the most popular all-terrains, except the Jeep which is 22". All of the info online says it's 23" with the BJCS, P&T, MBUS and Valco being 24-26". Is that info wrong? It does look wide to me, but I wasn't able to compare side to side. Maybe the 23" measurement isn't accurate.

I just measured my Easy Walker at 22"! The nice thing about this stroller is that you can quickly switch out the front wheel from small swivels to a large fixed wheel. The push and steering are amazing.

So will the Revolution *only* be available with 12" wheels, or with either 12 or 16?

Both. You can choose either 12" or 16".

I have a BOB Revolution (2006) and use it just fine at the mall, even in tight aisles. I've never had a problem. I love it! I wish it locked together when folded, though. I also wish I had the 2007 model with full recline, but I was able to use it with my infant seat (Britax Companion) and the optional infant seat adapter bar.
