I am headed to check out the Jane Power Twin tonight - we are torn (like many b/w the Jane and MBUD) - I have searched the boards and online but can't get a straight answer if a Graco Snugride will fit in a Jane PT (I know technically the answer is no but I am hoping an owner can clarify if there is a way to safely use the Graco Snugride with the Jane). Also - a lot of people say the Jane PT is 'cramped' - my dd is tall (almost 2yrs old - 99%tile for height) - should I be worried her feet might hit the front wheel? Any other info is appreciated - I have learned a lot but want to hear as much as I can before I head out tonight. TIA!!

I have a JPT and absolutely love it! We have a britax companion, and this is how we made it fit. We folded down the back seat and just rested the britax ontop of it. The bottom of the handles rest ontop of the stroller arms, very snugly. The bottom of the car seat does extend a bit past the backseat, but the carseat never can fall out and is quite snug. I can take a pic of it if you like. Since the Graco is smaller, you may be able to just extend the back seat of the JP to the fully reclined position, and just rest the carseat on top. The only drawback is that you have to leave the front seat fully upright. But our DS is 2.5 and never wants to recline anyhow.

The other issue is that the back of the seat are shorter, so even my DS legs extended would hit the front wheel. But he just simply rests his feet on the footplate above the front wheel and doesn't mind. Also, if his legs dangle, his feet don't get jammed in the front wheel or anything like that. They just hang behind and to the side of the front wheel. He is extremely short (not even on the chart), so HTH with putting your son's height in perspective.

Just have to say, I have used that JPT just the other week during the International Auto Show here in Detroit, and it pushed like a dream, and was so easy to manuver between the crowds!

Good luck!

OK I've had mine for a while now. I will tell you that I did use a Graco Snugride and it would fit fine in the Jane, but we rarely did it. All we had to do was lay the seat down and take the canopy off. It worked fine. Both DH & I really didn't like leaving the kids in it outside of the car b/c we just didn't think that position was good for him for too long. There are some new studies that show that is true, but you would have to do some research. We bought a snuzzler and just lay it down flat and put DS#2 in it. He would sleep happily in there. Plus w/the canopy going all the way forward he was completely covered.

Like PP my DS dangles his feet on the side of the foot plate all of the time but it doesn't affect the front wheel of it (unless he wants it to, whole other story ;) ).

Ann, it's so funny that you mentioned the Auto Show. One of our first long excursions was at the auto show. My mom was pushing most of the time and she just spent the whole night raving about how easy it was to push. She still talks about what a great investment it was. I couldn't agree more. A co-worker of mine just bought one too. Her DD is due in March and she was so happy to get it.

What is a snuzzler? Do I need one for a summer baby? Where is the best place to purchase one?

Thanks,
Heather

I think they're great. They didn't have them when DS was born, and we really needed it to fit him into the strollers, b/c he was so little. It's like a support insert with a lightly padded head, side arms. We used this one with DD which is reversible for hot or cold weather:

This one by JJ cole is more padded on the side and head (too much IMO, which is why we returned it):

I think we got our Kiddo from The Right Start and I'm pretty sure you can find the JJ Cole anywhere. We're still using our Kiddo even now with DD in the stroller. It also helps give them more support and bulk so they can fit better in the stroller. Even with the five point harnesses, DD can still slide around without the Kiddo.

Oh, and I just wanted to add, besides being a great 3 wheeled, narrow double stroller that has 2 reclining seats and a hand brake.etcc... they have great customer service! I ran over my stroller *gasp* and broke the wheel off. Emailed them, and they replied the next day and sent me a free replacement wheel 2 day Fed Ex! Just in time for the Auto show! =)

The Jane is a wonderful stroller. I was able to lay my Peg carseat with the back seat fully reclined. It fit nice and snug. By the way, there are two Janes being sold in excellent condition on the strollerswap. One of them is mine. But it depends on what color you like...just FYI.

My DS is also very tall and the only thing keeping me from going for this stroller is the height issue. Anyone else use this stroller and have pretty tall kids?

A while back (when I thought I was pregnant with DC#3), I was looking for a double stroller that I could attach a Buggy Pod to to make a triple stroller. I have a MBUD which I love, but it's wide already and attaching a Buggy Pod to the side would make it impossible to go mall crawling with. Besides, the Buggy Pod would only hold a smallish toddler and I wanted the main stroller to accomodate hold my 2 and 4 year old. Long story short, some of the other Jane PT owners said that yes, they LOVE their Jane, however, it really wouldn't accomodate a larger toddler well. So, I decided against it.

I'm not sure my drawn-out story helps you, but I hate stroller shopping and just wanted to have one that will last several years. We kept our MBUD and although it turned out I wasn't pregnant with #3, if i do get pregnant again, I've decided I'll attach a One Step Ahead Stroller Pick-up Seat to the back of our MBUD. DS#1 is in the 75% for height at 3.5 years old and is still comfy in the MBUD.

I am also looking at the Jane Powertrain. DS is currently 35 inches and 25 lbs at 26 months. I'm due in June. Will the Jane Powertrain not fit my DS well? DH and I are actually trying to decide between the Jane and the MBUD currently.

Thanks,
Heather

You may want to search some previous threads discussing the size of the Jane. I just remember that I was told a larger toddler wouldn't stay comfortable for long in the Jane. This was disappointing because the Jane seemed like the perfect stroller except for the size issue. I would have been disappointed if I had to go stroller shopping too soon. KWIM?

Thanks for the info. I don't want to purchase anything yet so we are waiting until much closer. But, if the MBUD gives me what I need without the fear of DS becoming to big for the stroller, then we will probably go with that. I already have 3 singles. DH and I were hoping to get an all terain double to use on walks and to put in the car, and to avoid having to get two doubles.
