DS is not yet mobile, but quickly moving that way.

We are currently renting a furnished apartment. The place is beautiful, with one major problem. THere are two pieces of art (one painting, one sand piece) that stretch from floor to ceiling. Right at sticky finger height, no?

They are both in the living room and it's not realistic to block off the entire room. Any suggestions on how best to protect them?

I'm sure more questions will follow (balcony off DS's room, glass shelves, marble table), but any thoughts for this would be appreciated!

TIA

Look at some of the kidco gates. They have the configure gate which will adapt to the spaces you need gated off. Another good solution is the kidco playden, which you can use to create a large area for DS to play while preventing access to the rest of the room. We bought two and combined them for an extra large space in our computer room/office so DD can play and be close by yet spare our computer equipment and files. (Kidco stuff tends to run a bit $$, but I did find fairly good prices at ebabysuperstore.com)

Hope this helps,

Michelle
