Safety "Starter Set"

Is there a "starter set" I can purchase with some of the basics or do I have to get everything seperate? Which companies are recommended at a reasonable price?

I bought a starter set at Target. (I also saw them at TRU) Even though I had tried to figure what I would need before I bought it, I still ended up with quite a bit of stuff I didn't need and kind of regret buying the set. What's "basic" might depend on your home.

I know the whole baby proofing process is kind of overwhelming.
