Without investing in a hearth gate, is there a way I can baby-proof our fireplace? We don't have those glass doors, just the chain curtain thing. Are those glass doors installable, after the fact? A hearth gate would take up a lot of room. We hardly ever use our fireplace, so I'm considering just scrubbing the whole thing and not worrying too much if Ainsleigh likes to rattle the curtain thing.

Does anyone else have a suggestion? TIA

Yes, the doors are installable afterward. In fact, most custom homes are always left so the buyer will pick what they want. They are about $200 depending on finish of trim. My DD played with the fake fire embers and ate the sand until I got the door. She could probably open it if she wanted to but does not bother. Finally! We had several time outs previously.
