Window Gaurds

Hello Peoples,
My 22 mth old daughter will be moving out of her crib and into her bed soon. My wife and I are looking for opinions for window gaurds to keep her from either falling out or through the window. My wife was looking at these gates/grates you can buy but I don't like them to much. Any suggestions/recommendations????

I live in a an apartment and the building installed window guards for us. They are pieces that screw into the adjoining window to the one that you open so that they block the window from opening more than a few inches (depending on how many inches away they're installed.) Pluses- no grates! Minuses- you can never open the window more than a few inches! Sorry, I don't even know what they're called or where you can get them but you could ask in a hardware store...
