I have been hunting for the perfect diaperbag backpack. I had a Lands End Deluxe Diaper Bag backpack, but returned it this week because it is just too darn heavy, even when empty.
I looked at the Baby Sherpa, but I wasn't very impressed with the quality and didn't think I would get much use out of the cooler.
I think I might have found a great replacement, though. I found this bag at Mountain Equipment Co-Op, which is a Canadian chain of stores (similar to REI). http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=676033&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=785537&bmUID=1093234588541
The photo here d/n do it justice. I got the black and it looks quite nice. It has nice sized pockes, lots of divider pockets and GREAT organization. It also has a laptop pocket inside the back compartment, which I can use for a change pad and wipes holder. Plus, it has two water bottle holders on the sides.
The back panel and the back of the straps are mesh and very comfortable. Of course, the quality of the construction and materials is first rate (MEC is great!!!). It is quite light when empty, so I can stuff it full of baby stuff without it getting too heavy. DH wasn't all huffy about this pack, because it is one he could use and also I will get good use out of post-diaperbag stage. We have many other MEC packs and they just do NOT wear out!
The only drawback if you were formula feeding (I'm EBFg) is the lack of an insulated bottle holder. But, I think you could put a separate bottle bag in one of the external water bottle pockets.
Not that I have shares in the company, but they do ship to the US....
