Would I have to pay any customs tax to have a new stroller shipped from Canada to the US? Would the answer be different if the stroller was shipped new in manufacturer's box from a store vs. a private individual?

I'm guessing you would have to pay duty -- I know strollers coming from the EU to the US are subject to duty. Of course, US duties are a lot less than Canadian duties (or so it seems). I don't think it would make any difference how it was shipped, unless the private individual was willing to lie and say it was a gift. But, even as a gift, if the stroller were going from the US to Canada, it would be subject to duty and taxes.

Your best bet would be to ask US Customs. I'm sure they would tell you.

Not sure if this helped.

I think this is for US custom to answer as you are importing good into the US. If goods are being brought into Canada would be subjected to Canadian duties/taxes and such, but not the other way around.

Have you tried asking US custom? Its website might have information.
