How old is your DD? My DS1 sits in a nice kid's chair from IKEA. He is old enough that he doesn't need the straps, so it works well - it is higher up than adult chairs and very stable. If he were younger and needed the straps, I would have bought something else. I also liked booster seats when he was younger. I love the look of both the Kettler and the KZ, but the price is SO high, that I just can't justify it.

Here is a chair that is the newer version of ours:
http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=3&productId=11082&langId=-15&parentCats=15567*15659*15667

Here is one similar to ours, but with a "railing":
http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=3&productId=11083&langId=-15&parentCats=15567*15659*15667

The only word of caution - I stub my toes on our chair daily because the legs stick out pretty far for stability.

Our chair is an older model - much like the second chair for style and colour but more like the first for lack of straps, etc. My DS1 has always kept his feet on the foot bar, but I wonder if he would have reached at an earlier age (I think I bought it when he was between 2 and 3).

I think that for the price, it is a nice option and Ikea will let you return it if you don't like it, so you don't lose much on your decision.

Yeah, while I like the stability (DS climbs in on his own), I hate the angle of those legs - I hit them when the chair is just pushed into the table. I am pretty good about avoiding them when DS is in his chair, but horrible when I am setting or clearing the table!

WHat about this one from Ikea?

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=3&productId=53018&langId=-15&parentCats=15567*15659*15667

We have it and it works well. EASY to clean!!! Kinda like a restaurant highchair (its the one Ikea uses in their restaurants).

ETA, my DD is just 2 and we have used this seat for about 6m with her. It has a waist belt that should work nicely for your DD.
