I went to WalMart today for a few things, one being formula since I have some checks expiring soon. (I have a low milk supply and must supplement). I of course chose the longest, slowest check out line. Then the cashier decided to close the lane and I was the last customer, so I had to keep telling people behind me that the line was closed. One woman snapped back at me, but I brushed it off. I kept my cool and was very patient while ds sat in the cart (with his cart cover, of course).

Then we finally get to check out (after she had screwed up and had to totally rering the woman in front of us) and I find out they wouldn't take the formula checks. I have used them there before! What gives?

If I would have known, I would have gone to Target to begin with!

I would call the formula company and complain. This must be a new thing, because I just gave my formula checks to a friend of mine and she used them at Sam's Club. Call corporate Wal-mart too, that's ridiculous.

That's weird! An on-line friend of mine just used a bunch at Wal-Mart!

You just perfectly explained why I never shop at Walmart unless I absolutely have no choice.

Walmart never would take formula checks from me. My store said their prices were too low and they don't like fooling around with the formula companies to get the money. I have refused to step into a Walmart since I was told that. Where I live they are only pennies cheaper than other stores. Sorry Walmart doesn't get anymore of my money.

This is a little off-topic, but since you mentioned you were going to supplement because of low supply- I also had that problem and my OB prescribed reglan. Reglan will increase your breastmilk supply... it allowed me to breastfeed until my son decided to wean. You may not have to supplement if you don't want to.

i tried to use a formula check and they told me that the formula company doesnt always reimburse the store. this is a pain bc the checks are great. i received them in the amount of 5+ dollars. which stores do honor the checks?

That's a total bummer! After all that effort to get to the store!
Target always accepts them. It's so lame that Walmart won't accept them, since you must give them a lot of business already. I won't go there for formula.

That happened to me once, and I asked for a manager. It turns out that the cashier was just not trained in how to ring them up!

I'd go to Target anyhow. It's prettier. :)
