What's the worst thing to come home to and with from vacation??? [Archive]

I have the answer:

One, a shorted fun time on vacation to the in-laws cause DD was sick for the first time for 5 days.

Two, a mom who gets an ear infection the day she leaves on vacation, which one week later turns into a hellish period of 5 days off dead dog sickness.

Three, a mom recovering from being sick on vacation, flying sick back from vacation, dead dog sick at home after vaction to a pantry which WAS infested with months from some bulk food she bought before vacation, but thought it was cleaned all up and taken care of, just to find out now it is worse than before.

So I come home on monday on a 5 day marathon of fevers accompanied by chills, aches, HUGE headaches, A HORRIBLE SORE throat, just to find out yesterday it's strep throat. I pretty much slept most of the days last friday through tuesday. Got back on my feet some yesterday, got meds from dr and am feeling good today - yeah.

Well DH took great care of his dead sick wife, and showed me yesterday the infestation.... So what did I do on the day I FINALLY feel better... that's right spent HOURS - like 8, taking EVERTHING out of the pantry, WIPING everything with a vinegar solution (as suggested on gardedweb), vacuuming every nook and crany, getting new air tight containers, cloves and bay leaves to put around to deter the nasty things, and rid of like 3 bags of infested or potentially infested food.

I am so tired. And wanted to vent to the air or to you if you are reading this ;) My bath tonight was SOOOOO NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
