She does not listen to me.
She will listen to my dh, she will listen to my mother, my sister, my father, my mil...pretty much everyone EXCEPT me.

ARGH.

It is so frustrating.

Not a thing, I don't think.

N only listens when he feels like it. I *think* he thinks he gets more attention that way...

You aren't doing anything wrong. You have a toddler. Wait until she says I don't love you or You are NOT my mommy!

My 4 year old is spending 2 days with her grandparents, I am picking her up Wednesday. When we left I said, "Maddie, Mommy is going to miss you", she said... "Well, I am going to miss my friends". She didn't give a rats rear end about the person who gave her life, she is going to miss her friend... I could have choked her, if I wasn't going to miss her so much...

That's ok...today, I asked DD "Are you listening to me?" She looked right at me and very matter-of-factly said "No."

Oh yeah, we've had that experience. Unfortunately it caught me so off guard I started to laugh. What was good was that it broke the tension and she started listening, but I'm afraid I'm teaching her bad behavior.

And to the OP, I would be more okay with DD listening to everyone but me except that DH insists that it's because I'm doing something wrong. He throws it in my face. Um, thanks, but DD is doing that enough. I feel ya.

Avi does this to me all the time. For example, if i am holding him and i say that he can go down if he holds my hand. I ask what he will do and he says "hold nana's hand". I say ok, he goes down and immediatly tries to run away. He is just testing me, and i know that just as he knows that, that is what she is doing to you.

They are more interesting because they are novel.

You aren't doing anything wrong. You just get tuned out a little because you're around more often and get taken for granted (already)!

Hugs,
Karen
