Alan & Denise,

I was reviewing the chapter on car seats last night and your recommendations on convertible car seats greatly confused me. In the product review section, you give Evenflo a D+ overall for car seats. But later, you say that the Evenflo Triumph is a "better" bet for a convertible seat. What gives?

Thanks,
Caroline

Caroline: Sorry for the confusion on this. OVERALL, we were not impressed with Evenflo's car seat line (infant, convertible, etc). That said, there are a couple of seats worthy of consideration---the Triumph convertible and Apollo/Comet combo booster (which we recommend in TODDLER BARGAINS). We probably should have been more clear in the review.

In our next edition, we will probably raise Evenflo's rating a bit to reflect these better seats (which have debuted in the last few months, after we initially wrote that main review).

Does that help?

Alan & Denise,

Yes, it does clarify things. Thanks. Incidentally, I went to the Baby Faire in Chicago this weekend and tried to ask the Evenflo rep about the Triumph (like whether or not it would go rear-facing, which I couldn't remember from the book). She knew nothing about the product, which certainly left an impression on my husband and I. Yikes!
