View Full Version : We are convinced that our DD will be a night person :(

It is like clockwork; every night at 2200 our little bundle of joy starts rocking and rolling in the womb. I have read where the movement throughout the day keeps the growing babies either sleeping or lulled into quiet alertness, but I fear of many sleepless nights soon to come. She definitely gets more active in response to my voice as I am still reading the third Harry Potter book at night.

She probably gets it from me as I definitely am a night person and Ms. Flagger could fall asleep at 2000 if she didn't feel so guilty.

Precisely the time that ours did, as well. Well, not precisely... probably closer to 2230 - 2300.

Don't let it worry you... eventually, they learn to sleep at night.

Or so I'm told.

2330-0100 here!!! And of course, the biggest movements of the day must be 'saved up' for this time!

It is so interesting the way all babies are so different! Amira was up all day kicking and doing gymnastics, and slept at night...and did the same from birth on...(not straight through, of course, and she still doesn't darn it) but I used to wake DH up pancking that I didn't feel her, and he would tell me "she is sleeping, I am sleeping- why don't you sleep"....:-)

Same here--around 2300 or actually whenever I would climb into bed! And I grew to expect it so much that when she *didn't* move/kick at around that time I would get worried!

That's great that she gets active as you read outloud! See, she's already a daddy's-girl! (I have one too):)

Hope Ms Flagger is feeling well!

Sounds familiar! I am comforted, though, by the fact that my 2nd son was just like that and he turned out to be a great nighttime sleeper! This baby is the same way...starting around 9:30 p.m. til about midnight it's rockin' & rollin' time in my belly!!

That happened to us too...we are night owls and sleep in :)...

We joked thru out the whole pregnancy that he'd arrive about 11:00 PM because that is when he was so active, seems we forgot that in the hospital when we kept guessing "9:10"..."9:18"....and so on...

Wouldn't you know he arrived at 11:30 like we had predicted long before :)...

I read somewhere that your movements during the day tend to lull your baby to sleep in the womb. And when you settle doen to rest, they wake up and become active. DH and I used to get in bed and watch the "show" as Sarah squirmed around in my belly! But she came out a good night time sleeper and has been ever since.

Well, that makes me feel better, because mine is up at 3:00 AM, probably because I woke him up for the middle-of-the-night potty run!!

I think Martie is a morning person (blech). Every morning, especially if I'm laying on my right side she taps dances on my side as if to say "Good Morning. Let's get some food down here Pronto!"

It'll be curious to see how it goes after she makes her grand entrance into this world.
