Automatically appending signature to posts

I just updated my profile to automatically append my signature. When I looked at a previous post, my signature was there twice (once from typing it in my original post and once from being automatically appended).

I decided to remove it from my profile and went back to a prior post. My signature still shows up twice. Anyone know why? Is there anything I can do?

Once the post is made, the signature is not edited in the post it appears. Some people change their signatures and it only applies to new posts they make. It seems as one thing not-editable. :)
