BBB Retreats!!!!

Hi, all! There's planning in the works for Baby Bargains message board devotees to get together IRL this summer. We're planning a meeting in NC the first weekend in August, with something to follow in Boston. There's also talk of a California retreat. Okay, maybe not, but I'm willing to host if people are interested. I can see it now, a baby themed party. Everyone drinks from sippy cups and bottles. We have Gerber Graduates hors d'oeuvres, and the Sesame Street DVDs run in the background. Then I'll lock everyone into my play corral. Hee hee hee.

Count me in! I'm happy to help Helen show the rest of you the Bay Area. Zoo? Shopping? I bet we could arrange a tour of a fire truck... Fingerpainting with pudding in someone's garage while we lounge around and chat. My sister is home from college for the summer, so I bet between her and DH, we could leave some of the kids behind for our own lunch. Just some ideas...

I would LOVE the California thing! We have a friend in San Jose with a new baby and this would be the perfect opportunity to visit them. I mentioned the trip to DH and thought it might be do-able!!!

No locking in the play corral? Okay, okay, party pooper. Actually Ardenwood (in Fremont) is a lot of fun and if you go on the right day it's only $1 to enter. Happy Holllow in San Jose is good too but it's more geared to the toddler set. If you want to do a real zoo (not just the farm animals) the Oakland Zoo is probably the best choice. Any other thoughts Sarah?

Fire truck? Do you mean at the Discovery museum?

For shopping we can bring you all to the Carter's Outlet and The Children's Place Outlet. Bargain city! :-)

Oooh, oooh the sun just came out! Now you can all come visit. :-)

Oh yeah and when the fun's all done we'll charter a Southwest flight to San Diego so we can all visit Tammy and Lauren!

The Discovery Museum is good, but I was just thinking your run-of-the-mill Firehouse. I've arranged tours for youth groups before. I'm sure a playgroup wouldn't be that different.

There are great stores in Berkeley - not so affordable, but SO fun to oogle over, and great places for lunch! I totally forgot about Ardenwood - excellent choice. If it's really warm, my complex has a pool. Or there's always Santa Cruz. Baby surfing, anyone?

I am totally taking notes tonight while I look around!

YES!! I am so excited....I don't know if people can pull it off on such short notice, but I am planning a trip out to Cali in a few weeks. I was debating whether or not to go, but this has totally sealed the deal. AND I AM GETTING A MOUNTAIN BUGGY!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOO!!

Okay, sorry. :) I am planning on flying the 6th of May, and leaving the 13th. I realized that means that I will be missing my firstMother's Day with Shawn, but then I will get to see so many of you! How exciting! Could we plan something for that week? And Sarah and I had already discussed hopping a plane to San Diego to go relieve Tammy for a day.

I was telling Lisa today that I am going to become a Baby Bargains Retreathead and just travel the country, meeting everyone. :D I hope this works out!!

Sounds like a blast! I'm not sure if I'll be able to travel with the babies that far, and also we're vacationing in NH in August, but I'll definitely be on the planning committee for the boston fiesta! Keep me posted on the NC events just incase.
