We'll be flying to Sicily for a week as Dante will just be turning 10 months old. I know one of the main suggestions about traveling with a babe is to rent a place with a kitchen, unfortunately, I'm not sure this will be an option. We're going to be traveling to about 3 different cities in 6 days time. We are renting a car and will also be doing some hiking (providing Etna doesn't blow her top while we're there).

From the sage and wisened among us, what would you suggest as helpful tips? Things to bring? Things NOT to bring? Activities to avoid? What do you wish you had known?

Eagerly listening...

My biggest travel tip with a baby (once you get to your destination) is to downsize your itinerary and expectations. Pick ONE thing that you REALLY want to do that day. Do that thing and consider anything else gravy. Once we started doing that, our vacations became MUCH more pleasant.

And stick to his routine as much as possible. Everyone will be happier. And sharpen your sense of humor!

For vacations with a lot of walking, make sure to have a good carrier.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
