What do you use for the occassional rashes?

Alexander has been having itchy rahes around his cheeks and ears. It does not look like typical eczema, but his skin does feel bumpy and dry. He is constantly scratching himself to death and I feel SO bad for the poor thing. Ped's office recommended Aveeno 1% hydrocortizone, but this has not helped. I am also leary of over using hydrocortizone. I have also tried Aquaphor, but haven't had much luck with that either. It also seems to get worse when the wheather is warmer. Any suggestions you can pass along? Thanks a bunch!

If you don't think it looks like his typical eczema, and the treatments you usu. use aren't working, I'd get it checked out by the doctor.

Did the dr. say anything about heat rash? Does your son wear a hat a lot? My DD got heat rash when she was younger all over her body after wearing a hat all day at the zoo. Nothing seemed to help and it took a good month to go away.
