Just curious to know your thoughts on Parenting Magazine? The subscription is only $12.00 a year and I was thinking about subscribing. But, I wanted to know what you all thought before I subscribed.

Is this magazine any good?

Thank you in advance for you replies and input.

A subscription is only $9.97 if you get it through Amazon.com

At that price you can't go wrong.

I find it to be a good "middle of the road" mainstream magazine. No extreme opinions one way or the other. It has fun recipes for families, arts and crafts, advice articles, shopping for baby stuff reviews, etc. I'd say for the $9.97 on Amazon to give it a shot. If you have any older kids (preschool and up), I love Family Fun magazine. Our preschool used to subscribe to it and all the teachers read it.

I received 2 free trial issues recently (through Motherhood store). I'm expecting my first child and found most of the magazine catered to issues with toddlers, not surprising. I'm not quite there yet so I cancelled before they started charging me for a 1 year subscription (although they're going to send me 3 more months for free anyway). Good information for the future but not really necessary right now. Maybe you could try it out first?

I like it pretty well. I agree that it caters mostly to parents (moms really) of toddlers and older babies. Some stuff for older kids, too, though. It's very mainstream...so nothing too controversial or extreme. I actually prefer Parents over Parenting (slightly) but they are very similar.

If you're choosing between Parents and Parenting, Parenting is more liberal.
