I'm hoping everyone can help. My best friend has a 4 day old who has her days and nights mixed up for sleeping. Can you offer any suggestions that worked for to help the baby adjust her confusion?
Thank you!

Here is a thread from a couple months a go that discusses this.

They can try to make nighttime as uninteresting for the baby as possible. No talking, singing, etc. Keep the lights dim, and just change and feed the baby and put him or her right back to bed. When the baby stops pooping at every diaper change, they can just stop changing the diaper at night unless it's dirty. Also, if the baby is sleeping several hours at once during the day, they can try waking him or her up after a couple of hours so the baby learns to save the longest stretch of sleep for the night. Having said all that, at 4 days old, James was equally likely to be awake at 2 AM as at 2 PM! It's still so early, but those steps should help.

Jonah was exactly like this. He eventually did turn around without any drastic measures. However, we did make sure to keep things dark and more quiet at night. Changed his clothing in the morning and at night. Did things to signify a change, KWIM?

I didn't do this back then, but I wish I had. If they have a good trick for getting baby to sleep (like car rides or a swing or something), use it now to start a change in schedule.
