My ped prescribed these at her 2 mo check up. It's apparantly vitamins with flouride... Seems early for flouride or vitamins especially since I'm breastfeeding, but I guess it couldn' t hurt. Just wondering if your kids are taking them...

We are taking them too. It is mostly for the flouride because our water here is not flourinated. If you have doubts, ask your Ped.

Colin is on vitamin drops too (Vit A, C, D and Fluoride) but they weren't prescribed until 6 months.

Ours weren't prescribed until 6 months either. You may want to ask why so early.

Our ped perscribed them for Arielle at her 6 mo. visit and she's been taking them since. I asked the nurse at her 18 mo check up how long she will need to take them for and she said until age 3. I assume at that time they can begin chewable vitamins (MUCH better tasting!:) ). BTW, Arielle was breastfed, and I know babies who use the practice that are on them and were formula fed.

I think I'm going to just wait until 6 mos. I read today that breastfed babies don't need additional supplements or flouride until at least 6 mos. My ped is kinda old fashioned so I think that's why she prescribed them. I really don't like the idea of giving her anything if she doesn't really need it...
