Due to very low milk supply, I started Fenugreek on Sunday (and increased fluid and food intake). Anyone know how long the Fenugreek takes to go into effect? I've seen no improvement yet, but maybe I'm expecting too much too soon? Thanks.

I didn't have much luck with Fenugreek. I used Mother's Milk Tea. I would drink it in the morning and by the afternoon, I was Lady Bountiful.

I heard 3-5 days. Also make sure that you are consuming enough calories each day (2200 is a good rule of thumb) - dieting can affect milk supply, too.

I'm taking 2 capsules 3-4 times a day.

It took about 3 days for me as well. I did a bottle on three separate occassions while nursing. It didn't work great--but there was some improvement. I took 4 capsules 3-4 times a day. Good luck, it can be so frustrating.

I read that it can take from 24-48 hours to work. I have been using it with limited success and recently placed an order for a supplement that's supposed to be much more successful called Domperidone but cannot be obtained in the U.S. without a prescription, although I've read that the U.S. pharamacy compounds of it aren't as strong. I ordered mine from www.ihealthnz.com, the site came recommended from the women on another site.

Oh BTW, you can take both Mother's Milk Tea and the fenugreek, maybe you'll get more of a response doing both.

Good luck -
Debbie

That's about what I took as well, and it did take about 3 days to start working. Just make sure you are drinking enough too. It should kick in soon!
