There are 2 inches of snow piled up on my deck right now! I live on top of a hill with a 800 foot steep, winding driveway that you can only get up with 4 wheel drive if there is even a dusting of snow. I'm sorry, I just have to vent. I am so not ready for this. It's not even Haloween yet! I'm gotten used to the idea of snow in April in New England, but I'm still stuck on the no snow until November concept.

Wow Jeanne, that is really early. I have nothing but sympathy for you. Living in Atlanta is only b*tching weather in July.

DS had a great time gawking at the snow this morning while we stood out in it - great fun!

Okay, don't hate me but...I always look forward to that first snowfall, no matter when it happens. I guess being from SD and now in MN, I'm never surprised by snow in October.

No snow here yet, but it did hit 28 degrees Farenheit at 10:00AM (-2 or so celsius). That was mighty mighty chilly...

I was hoping to see some snow this morning, but nothing here, not even a flurry. I love snow. Even after last winter where it covered the ground all winter. I can't wait to put Logan in the snow and make baby snow angels!

allison, if you think that's cold, i'm originally from alberta, canada, and there were many times it was -30 to -35 celsius (not sure of the f conversion) but boy that's cold. the news used to report weather by saying how fast your skin would freeze exposed (e.g. 1 second, 2 seconds...)

i'm sad not to be in san diego anymore, but happy that we're in north carolina rather than nastily cold canada :)

I moved to the States when I was in grade school and I remember not understanding why we weren't allowed to play outside once the wind chill got below 0. In Eastern Canada(PEI), where I lived before, it had to be something ridiculous like -50 or more before they deemed it too cold to play outside. It gets cold in Northern IN where I live now, but there are plenty of freeze-thaw cycles throughout the winter so you never get the 14' snow drifts built up on the side of the road and they don't have 50 to 100mph gusts of wind coming off of the Atlantic in the dead of winter like when I used to live in Canada. Not to mention that our power doesn't go out for days every time we had a blizzard. I kind of chuckle at people here who complain about 10" of snow and think that 20mph is a horribly windy day.

Lisa-
Do you live in Phoenix or a surrounding city? We live in Gilbert.
Glad to see I am not the only AZ girl!

I'm in Chandler - so not far from you! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only Zonie here! Have you gone to the Schnepf (sp?) Farm Pumpkin Festival? We went a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it! We had to go in the evening though since it was so hot during the day. DD really enjoyed the train ride! The forecast says we're going to get into the upper 80's this weekend, YAY!!!

Yup. We switched from comfortable fall to winter literally overnight. Hey, at least it's not raining!
