Has anyone ever made chocolate covered leaves? I'm making this really cool cake that was pictured in October's Womens Day magazine, and it requires 20 chocolate candy leaves, peeled off of real maple leaves, but I'm having bad luck here. The leaves keep splitting, breaking, and my visions of an awesome, festive fall cake are withering.

Does anybody have any tips for me? Besides, of course, patience! ha.

TIA,

flagger

Why not send an email to Jacques Torres?

Is your chocolate too thin? It IS a major pain to produce, but the end results are worth it for the "ahhhhh" factor. Even if they don't turn out, I am sure the cake will still be delicious!

Here's how Jacque Torres recommends doing it:

Thanks, Sarah and Flagger! My teething baby only wanted me to do a few leaves, apparently, so the 20 recommended leaves only ended up being about 7 full ones and 8 smaller leaf portions, but I think it should end up okay. I sure appreciate your help :)
