View Full Version : OT- So excited. My Dad's gonna be on TV!!

My Dad is going to be on Rocco Dispirito's show the Restaurant. Rocco is the commencement speaker at the CIA next week and because of that they are doing a culinary competition with 5 of the graduating members. My dad was selected to be one of them! I think he's going to represent the career changers. The winner of the competition will go and work at Rocco's restaurant for a short period of time. The competition is next Tuesday, I don't think I'll be able to see the competition, but I'll be rooting for him all the way!

I don't know. Now I'm getting nervous. My mom just sent an e-mail to us telling us to pick our outfits in case we will be filmed. Aaack. I might have some shopping to do. I highly doubt we will be on tv, but when you don't prepare for something that's when something happens!

DH and I LOVED watching Rocco's show! How exciting! I had heard that they were going to do a 2nd season, could this be part of the new season's shows? We'll definitely be watching! :)

That's so neat Sonia!!! Let us know how it goes. Kudos for your father. Would love to see you all on tv.

We watched the Restaurant and thought Rocco was such an ass. I was hooked on the show but he was such a jerk.

That is so cool! Pat & I watched the Restaurant religiously. I LOVE Rocco! I think he is so cute...

My friends are addcited to that show, they talk about it all of the time...I bet your dad will do wonderful!!! I remember you sharing his web site with me while you were still pregnant and how he had a "spot" already for Martie on it...I knew then what a special man he obviously was!!!

How COOOL is that?!!! :)

Rocco was on Letterman the other night. It was pretty funny.

The huge maitre'd guy from the show lives here in Hoboken (I think). I've seen him around four or five times. No joke - he's about 6'-8".

I can't wait to hear all about your Dad's graduation!!!

How fun!! I loved THE RESTAURANT as well and can't wait for the next season. I work in customer relations, so I can so relate to some of the stuff that goes on.

Good luck to your dad! He must be great to have been chosen and he sounds like a Fabulous Grandpa as well.
