My computer is in need of more memory...and reminds me every ten minutes by telling me there is not enough memory to do things. Can anyone tell me the best place to buy memory and exactly what I need?

TIA!

We only use macs around here! We've purchased memory here: http://www.satech.com while @ Mac Expo in NYC.

You just need to know which "type" of imac you have (ie; new "flower" one, older pre-333mhz one, 350 mhz & newer. They are all super easy to install yourself, except for the original imacs from when they first came out.

DH says to go through Other World Computing at www.macsales.com He says they are reputable and can tell you just what you need and you can probably get it at a reasonable price.

If you go to the Apple website you can do a search under support and it will tell you exactly how much RAM you can add to your computer. I just upgraded my PowerBook recently and it was a snap. You can definitely do it yourself.

And I thought I was going to wake up this morning and see 0 replies on this thread because I have a Mac... Thanks so much! Just waiting for DH to get home to decide how much memory we need... :-)

Thanks again!

I would get the max that your iMac will take...we have 1 gb of memory on each mac we use and never have a problem :-)

If you have an Apple store nearby, you can probably get memory there as well (not positive though!)...but I'm sure it'll cost alot more than the online stores.
