I am trying to decide whether or not to give a daily vitamin to Julia. Most doctors seem to say that its not necessary as long as the child is eating well.

Then the salespeople at health food stores will tell me that the because of the way food is grown/made these days, they lack some of the vitamins and minerals that they should have.

I know that the salespeople at health food stores like Whole Foods are not doctors but at the same time many doctors only know what they are taught. I have never heard my Pediatrician ever recommend supplements like Echinacea even though I totally believe in it's benefits.

What is right?
Thanks!

I give Mason the gummy bear vitamins they sell at Costco.... it is a great big jar and last a long time! I figure if we could use the multi vitamin everyday then our kids can too!!!! It honestly can't hurt! Some days Mason eats well and others he is picky so at least I know he's getting some vitamins each day no matter what his eating habits are like that day!

Good Luck
