Hi all!

Just wondering - my baby is 3 weeks and I just can't wait until he starts smiling at me and my husband!

At what age (approx.) did most of your children start smiling? Do I only have weeks to wait or more like months??!

Thanks!!

I think Julia started smiling at 6 weeks? I am so bad remembering these things but I do think it was around 5-6 weeks.
It's the best feeling!

I just checked Noah's baby book and the first time he smiled was Oct. 12, he was 5 weeks. It was so precious and now he smiles all the time. He started making cooing noises about two weeks later and now has long conversations with the baby in his Sassy mirror, lol! He's 12 weeks now and laughed for the first time two days ago while we were setting up the Christmas tree. He thought the whole thing was hilarious and now he is so intrigued by all the lights. He just stares and stares with his big eyes. Hang in there, your baby will be smiling before you know it and it just keeps getting better. And record everything because you forget so easily. I journal in his book late at night when everyone's asleep.

Lorelei smiled around 5-6 weeks. But it was more like 6-8 weeks when you could tell she was really smiling back at you. And then the laughing starts! We just had our first giggle fit last week. Every time I laughed, she would laugh back and it kept going on and on and on. That was pretty cool.

Colin was just shy of 4 weeks. So you only have a few weeks to wait, at the most. Unlikely that it will be months!

Charlie was 4 weeks, but didn't start smiling really consistently until 6 weeks or so. You're almost there! :)

Ainsleigh produced her first real smile the day before she was 6 weeks. I'll never forget it because it was Mother's Day. Oh, and she had also slept through the night. Amazing what a good night's sleep will do for you:).

All my kids were 5-6 weeks. What I loved the most was when they hit 7-8 weeks and would let out loud giggles in their sleep :).

Hmm...Ds was born 11/6 and smiling was a very new thing on Christmas, so I would say around 5 weeks.
