Wow, that's a big baby. Even bigger is the 22 lb baby delivered in the 1800s. I'm sure that baby was delivered vaginally too.

HOLY COW! That is a BIG baby! Our friends' son is 3 1/2 and 60 lbs...he is a big boy! But I don't think he was that big at birth! LOL...thank heavens for C-Sections!

Holy mackeral!! I wonder if she didn't have undiagnosed gestiational diabetes to have a baby that big when the article said neither her or her husband are big or tall people.

I wondered about that too. I worked with a guy whose wife had delivered 3 babies: 10 pounds, 11 pounds and 12 pounds. She did have gestational diabetes.

Man, I had GD with all three of mine but THANK GOD! Grayson was the biggest at 7 lbs, 8 oz. I cannot imagine even two or three more pounds!!!!!!!

My DH was 12lbs and my SIL was 13lbs. My MIL has diabetes now, I don't know if she had GD back then, but I'm guessing she must had to in order to deliver such "turkeys" :)

Praying DS DOES NOT take after his father!! :)

I had a friend give birth to a 13 lb. 14 oz. baby vaginally. If you ask her about it she says "didn't hurt anymore then my 8lb. baby). Of course the dr. told her if he'd known the baby was that big he would have done a csection. She had no tearing and loves to tell the story. Biggest baby ever born at her hospital and if I remember correctly in the county. Her baby is now just over a year old.

Yikes!! I'm squeezing my legs together without even realizing it! :)

DH's grandfather was 14 lbs when he was born, but then grew up to be 5'6" with a size 7 shoe or something like that, LOL. :D

Ooh, I can't imagine that. DS was 8 lbs. 2 oz. and I had to have an episiotomy that makes me cringe just to think about it. I think a lot of it may have to do with the fact that she gained 62 pounds.

Ow, OW, OWWWWW!!!!! Kasey did not hit 14 lbs until she was almost 6 months old. What must a 14 lb newborn look like??? Thank God for that woman's sake that they did a c-section. I also have to wonder what a woman that pettite was doing gaining 62 lbs - not very smart! OWWWWW!!!!

My frieend just devlivered a 12 pounder vaginally. She is 2 weeks pp and breastfeeds standing up. Gee wonder which is worse-the peri pain or the hemmorhoids...(She is neither diabetic nor big-she is actually fairly petite)
