Alternative to Christmas card pic

Since I wasn't happy with ANY of our family portraits, I kept thinking what we could do rather than just send out pics of Ainsleigh. Plus, deciding WHICH picture of her is too hard. So this is what we ended up doing - a collage. I sized it to 4x6 and uploaded it to Shutterfly. They treat it like a regular picture. Is this too weird? Ah well, what else would people expect?!

Sarah, this is fabulous! One of my aunts and uncles does this and sends out pix from all year with them and all their kids and grandkids. I think it is the best idea! And what a beautiful family you have!! :)

They were all digital photos, so we cut and pasted in Photoshop, then uploaded it. You could probably do color copies, but those get expensive.

Thanks all for your encouragement. I keep going back and forth whether it's a good idea or not. Now I'm feeling much better!

LOL - yep! I have the dress in blubell but that's actually the romper. I LOVE them - sooooo comfy!

Gosh, you all know how to make a girl feel good!

I used Photoshop. Pick a few pictures and then I resized them individually. Then you do a select all, create a new document (size it to 4x6), and then hit paste. You can use the move tool to put it in the position you want, then repeat for the others.

Then DH came in and said we should do shadowing around the middle ones, but he's the graphics expert so I *kind of* saw what he was doing.

For anyone who wants help, email me on the side. If you email me the pics you want, I could probably do it for you (I finished my shopping yesterday and have just 2 more presents to wrap, so I've got time!). Click the email tool at the top and I'll get back to you!

What beautiful photos and such a neat idea. Ainsleigh juat cracks me up. I'll have to show DH this thread. He's the picture buff in our house. He might just steal your idea too.

I send out monthly e:mail updates to my firends/family with Declan's latest tricks and a picture. Each month I add it to the collage at my desk. Would be neat to do something like this.

Thanks! Duh, I don't know why I didn't think about this. We have the full Photoshop as well(I used to work closely with the art department at my last publisher). I'm going to give it a run and see what I can do. Thanks a ton!
