Raw skin on thumb

Mirielle suddenly broke out with big patches of dry, red, irritated skin on her forearms, thighs and thumb. I think it's because we've needed a lot of baths lately and I forgot the lotion yesterday. I slathered Aquaphor and lotion on her and it seems to be helping but don't know what to do about her thumb. It's the one she sucks so no chance that lotion will stay on. Any ideas?

What about putting some Lansinoh on it? That is the only thing I can think of, especailly since it is recommended for sore raw nipples. Hope she feels better!

I put lanolin on DD raw thumb - the same stuff you can put on your nipples if they are cracked. It safe for the baby to consume and it works wonders on raw skin.
