Just wanted to wish all of my friends of the Jewish faith a very happy and festive Chanukah this year. Hopefully many of you use a traditional menorah and not the electric one I saw in the catalogue that allows you to screw in a new lightbulb each night. :)

May your children be the best Gelt you could ever hope for.

Thanks, Flagger. Happy Chanuka to all! (We still have to put together DS #1's kitchen, lol! We're behind this year! At least I shopped early before DS# 2 arrived earlier than expected).

Lisa

& Jack, 4/20/01 (who is going to be getting a lot of presents this year as everyone feels sorry for the "displaced" older child)

& Joshua, 11/16/03 ("I just want to be held and I'm happy.")

Thanks for the well wishes Flagger and everybody else...we are looking forward to lighting our first candle in a little bit here.

Audrey has already played her first game of dreidel. I replaced the candy with Cheerios...of course, her "game" consisted of throwing the dreidel (which is plastic) so hard against the floor that it cracked apart and the cheerios flew everywhere. Ah, what sweet memories we are making! :)

Cute! Sarah loved the dreidel and wanted Dh to spin it again and again. She was also pretty bemused by the candles!

MIL is bringing Martie a singing dreidel when she comes down on Thursday. Beth, I must thank you for the latka recipe. DH loved them. He took a bite, and I swear that his eyes rolled in the back of his head and he said "That's what a latka is supposed to taste like".

Roley's aunt got her a plush smiley face dreidel with a pull cord that makes it spin. It was a big hit, but she couldn't quite get the hang of pulling the cord and then putting it on the floor to see it spin. She would hold it in her hand. She broke the muscial plastic dreidel last week so you guys are doing better than we are here!

Paula--do you have any idea where Roley's aunt got that dreidel?? Audrey loves stuff with pull cords like that. I would love to get one. Would you ask her where she found it??? I am always on a search for any cute judaica merchandise :)

I'm glad you enjoyed them! It is an old, well-tested family recipe!

But no latkas for us this year on the South Beach Diet! :(
