View Full Version : Best baby book? what do you have??

I think it's time I recognize my total dependence on this boards (I think that ship sailed when I began starting conversation with my DH "A lady on the board suggests..." LOL

Anyway, I've looked at a few baby books and they seem rather cheesy...I need something a little structured (that will force me to write even if I don't feel like it), but not SO structured that it becomes silly ("my first poop", etc, well, you know what I mean)...

Thanks so much for any suggestions...

Someone gave me a baby's first year calendar - it was great because I could bring myself to jot a few words most every day, rather than beckoning me to write the novel that I was too exhausted to consider!

I had similar requirements and ended up with this one:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1887169318/qid=1073791150//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i0_xgl14/102-3728760-3324109?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

There's enough structure for me and then there are also a few pages where it asks you to write. Of course, I haven't done those pages yet! But I know that Lane will cherish what we will write in it, so I'm glad the space is there.

Another plus is that you can get a matching box to hold larger keepsakes (it's not on Amazon though).

Feel free to ask me any questions about it. Good luck! :)

I love the Molly West books. We have the pink one called Natalie, but they have them for boys too. They are simple and beautiful. The cover is made of fabric which makes them look a little bit nicer, but they are more expensive than most books.

I have the Tom Arma which I really like. It's very very cute. I bought it at Barnes and Nobles. It has a few pages like Physical first etc. but the rest are just pages like First Month, Second Month etc. so I just write in it when I feel like it.

Still I do sort of regret buying that book because after I saw so many beautiful ones. The Molly West ones that someone posted a link to are wonderful. I usually spot the best and most gorgeous baby books in those specialty baby books where everything is expensive. I've seen so many that I've liked and I would have bought those had I known.

I haven't ordered one yet because I haven't been able to decide on a color!

Hello!

I agree...there is a tremendous amount of "cheese" in the baby book industry! We wanted something elegant and timeless...kinda like my own baby book. We decided on a lovely book from Aspinal of London. It's gorgeous and not too much.

Good Luck!
