Can anyone explain why posting times are so off on my computer?

I've always noticed that the post times are about 6 1/2 hours ahead of the actual time and don't know if I need to set something differently in my compter to fix this of if it's just a problem with the boards. For instance, my most recent post was listed as 2:21 a.m. on March 12 although it was around 7:55 EST on March 11. I know it's not really important but it just bothers me. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it?

you have to go to the user menu and edit preferences and set your time zone.

I've done that before (more than once) and it didn't fix it.

I've noticed the same thing! I think mine is off my 1.5 hours. I don't get it...

Same here and just noticed it this evening.

I followed the advice of adjusting the time under the 'preference' section, which seemed to be the culprit. So now my posts are showing up as 1 hour and 24 minutes ahead or schedule instead of 6 hours. I guess that's better than nothing, but I still can't figure out why it's so off! Oh well...
