So, last time I did fertility charting with temperature I wasn't doing shift work. It's very nice that I'm supposed to take my temperature the same time everyday, but I'm not sure what to do since my "normal temperature" time is at the last part of my overnight shift (once a week). I know that shift work/staying up changes you metabolism (love those 5 am chills I get). Has anyone out there had experience trying to chart while working overnight shifts? How did you handle it? Right now I'm just not taking my temp on those days. It's not like I can stick a thermometer in my mouth at work while I'm running in and out of precaution rooms.

From what I remember about charting temps (and it's been a while) it doesn't matter what time of day you take it so much as it matters that you take it AFTER at least 3 straight solid hours of SLEEP.

Basal Body Temperature or BBT, is your body’s temperature at rest.
