Does 2.4 and 5.8 technology clash?

we are in need of replacing our 900 mhz phones. we have a 2.4 video monitor and just picked up a 2.4 telephone...well the phone made the video monitor go crazy. so we have to return the phones. should we stick with 900 technology or try 5.8?

We have 5.8 and we have never been able to use a video monitor in our house....we tried both brands carried by BRU.....

We have a 2.4 ghz cordless phone and a video monitor (and a 802.11b wireless network) and have not had problems with our video monitor.
