Well first of all, thanks everyone for replying to my previous posts about moving. Things are finally decided: after many different possibilities, we've settled on moving to Austin! I am very VERY glad to be moving somewhere warm, and Austin is a great city. We'll be moving at the end of May.

In a previous post, Flagger recommended using U Pack (thank you!!!). Their reviews are very positive and I like that they charge by linear foot, not weight. For anyone who has used U Pack, were their linear foot estimates on the site accurate? Or did you need more space?

Also, it seems that overall success is largely contingent upon how well items are packed. Any packing tips to pass along? How do you protect large items (couches, tables, etc.?)

Any and all ideas/input is GREATLY appreciated!!

The farthest I've ever moved is to college in Ann Arbor (45 miles away) so this is a new adventure for me!

Thanks so much! :)
