share what you did this week that made you feel proud!!
Wasn't any fun, but we got my car in for service just under the warranty deadline! Whew! Glad it's done!

I finally finished the prep work for the preschool teachers' contract at our school, and the papers are finally, finally ready for the lawyer's review. Our board has been hammering on these since November, but last night, the last duck was put in the very last row.

I mowed the grass for *the very first time EVER*! I never learned how growing up since my dad and brother did it. Dh's sisters learned as kids and he's always gently harassed me about it. :) Well, I finally did the front yard and it doesn't look half bad!

We are in the middle of purchasing a minivan...already agreed to a price and had it on order. I saw a commercial that another dealership was offering a better deal...I called, got a quote, and re-negotiated the price with our current dealership! Saved us $1,300 just because I was watching Oprah!!! Yahoo!

I finished the June interview with a sling seller for www.thebabywearer.com.
I made some felt balls for the babies coming over for playgroup tomorrow.
I also wrote all the thank you's for dd's birthday (but still have to address, stamp, and mail...)
I guess all of these ARE baby-related, but I am very proud of them nevertheless!

Good idea!
- I made a batch of cookies to send for a thank-you gift.
- I contacted an attorney about starting our will and trust.
- I reviewed a life insurance quote that I received a long time a go. The guy fell off his chair when I actually called HIM.
- I wrote two notes on real notecards and mailed them. This is a very scarce occurrence!

umm, I went out to dinner! I know that sounds stupid, but with a nursing almost 3 week old, I think of that as an accomplishment!!
Thanks, Rashmi - I commented on Leela's pics in your felt balls post in the craft section. She is gorgeous!

Kid-related, but not baby-related...
My 8th grade son won 8 awards at his Honors Day Assembly, my
6th grade daughter won 1 award at hers (in SCIENCE, YEAH!!)
and my 3rd grade son won 2 awards at his!!! YEAH!!
But, the best part of the day was when the lady sitting behind me at he Eight grade ceremony asked me if that was my KID BROTHER winning all the awards. Uh, yeah, that's it......

I finally got our renter's insurance set up correctly - we've had the wrong amount for a few months. (I set it up online, which meant we couldn't get all the things we needed, but I figured it was better to have some than none. And I just found time to fix it.) So now in the event of a disaster, we can replace everything! I also got insurance on all my jewelry (all three pieces!) taken care of.
That's my coup for the week. It took almost an hour on the phone at my office.

I arranged for the Epilepsy Foundation to come to our neighborhood to pick up donations. Then I managed to fill up eleven bags of clothes to donate b/c I'm too lazy to list them on ebay or take them to a consignment shop.
I also packed nine boxes for the move. Not much, but it's a start. Doesn't exactly make me feel proud, but I do feel good getting it started.

I went to the gym 3 times so far this week, and plan on going 2 more times!
My melons that I planted a few weeks ago are taking off and blossoming (because I'm remembering to water them ;-)).
And the big one is that I have not spent a dollar since Monday (I'm one of those people who likes to spend money on things I don't need and then feel guilty when I get home!)
Good thread!

Lisa - me too! About buying things and then feeling guilty! I have been having a purchase-free week. I started Sunday, but then fell off teh wagon at WalMart Sunday afternoon.
I have spent some money since Monday - a dinner out, a cup of coffee here and there, groceries, but I haven't bought anything at Target. Last night I went to the mall by myself and was almost sweating and shaking to BUY some baby things, but I told myself I could come back on Saturday if I wanted to.
It's a weird psychological thing.
Does anyone else spend WAY to much at Target?

Robin,
Don't let them go hiding that 1,300 anywhere...
I saw on dateline tell them what you buy it for that you won't finace anymore than that plus tax!!!!!
Sometimes (well actually all the time) they will hide that 1,300 in other things...so be careful!!!
Not to rain on your parade but just watching out after you :)...

Whew, it's good to know I'm not alone!! I cannot go into Target and get just what is on my list, I just can't. It's been hard this past week but what's helped is taking DD to places you can't spend money (the park, children's museum - we have a membership, playgroup). I start thinking about things we "need" and find myself asking if we really need it when of course we don't.
Anyways, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a love/hate relationship with Target - I love to buy things there but hate the guilt when I get home!!!
