My dad and step-mom would have been at the Charles de Gaulle airport this a.m. at the time of the roof collapse and I'm trying to call the hotel they were scheduled to stay at this evening. Slight problem in that I've never made an overseas call and have no clue how to do so. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Debbie-
Hope everything is ok.
Here is how to make an international call:

011 + 33 (which is France's country code) + area/city code + number

Good luck~

You can always call 00 for the international operator.

My DH also flew into Paris this morning for a busness trip. When I heard about the collapse it didn't say what time it happened. Luckily he arrived at 10:30, a couple of hours after it had happened. I called his hotel and they said he had checked in. I was so thankful. (He also flew into DC the night before 9/11...boy was that scary!)

Hope your family is OK.

Although I'm sure saving money isn't your top priority right now, here's a link to "10-10" numbers for France:

I hope your folks are fine and enjoying their vacation!

I remember when my parents were in London I heard about a traincrash on the news at like 4 in the morning. I was so upset. I called my brother and sister and woke them up searching for the phone number to call. When I finally got through, they were out visiting a castle. All safe and sound. I hope your worry was for naught. I know how helpless and scared you must feel. Please let us know how your call goes.
