OT: Ever entered a recipe contest?

I think it would be fun to try out. Any hints/tips? I'm thinking of going for the Pillsbury bake-off contest next year. Now, on to develop a winning $1M recipe! :)

I would try to go over lots of recipes that use pilsbury ingredients and when you find one that you like, tweak it and change it, make it your own. Good luck! I love watching the bake-off on the Food Network.

I haven't, but two people on another board I post on (http://community.cookinglight.com) just made it to the finals. One of the women won the appetizer category. That's a $10K prize!

I haven't, but a good friend of mine was a finalist in a pretty big cooking contest (free trip to Napa Valley!). She just made up the recipe and sent it in (without even trying it first)! She had a blast--and she and her DH loved the all-expenses-paid trip to California!
