View Full Version : Where Can I Find a Good Baby Book?

I am a first-time mom due in 2 weeks and have been looking for a high-end, high-quality baby book for my little one. I want it to be the kind that you fill out (baby's first years) with family tree, lock of hair, foot prints, etc.

I've looked at a few book stores (Barnes & Noble and Borders) and just don't like the quality of these books (not special enough). The ones at Babies 'R Us are a little too generic and, for me, cheezy.

Couldn't find anything at Hallmark. Looked at exposures online, but they only had one and i was afraid it wouldn't hold up over the years (it's linen).

Does anyone have a good source for such an item, or suggestions on where I can get something like this? I'm going to try a couple of high-end stationery stores (Papyrus), but not sure where to go from there. On-line sources would be great, or something in the Denver/Boulder, Colorado area.

Thanks.

These are the nicest ones I've found. Very understated, heirloom quality.

I am in the Denver-Boulder area, too. I saw some nice ones at a little store in Georgetown. If you are heading up to the mountains any time soon, I can tell you where to look. The books were the same kind as the one I have for James (which was also from a store in a small Colorado town). It has a Bessie Pease Gutman picture on the front and is really pretty. It also has lots of pages to insert photos. The publisher is Blushing Rose Publishing, I believe.

I love dd's Molly West baby book. It has all the pages you mentioned. It was a little pricy but worth it & we have a matching keepsake box too. I ordered mine from babycenter.com but have seen them in stores too. This is the pattern we have.

I still love the ones from Baby Box http://www.babybox.com/keepbookal.html

Very pretty, classic and superb quality.

Yes, that was my reaction--I found them looking for a christening album--but NO WAY am I paying $150 for one!

I don't have any advice on where to find one online but...

Look at high end baby boutiques. I have found some truly beautiful one's.

Another vote for Molly West books. I also have that pink one and the fabric and trim on the book are so beautiful. The pages are simple and classy.

Thanks so much for all of the suggestions. It was so great to finally see some nicer books in a decent price range. I ended up buying the Molly West Baby Book and matching Keepsake Box in the Baby Nicolas pattern for my little boy that is due in just a week and a half now. Baby Center had the best prices, by far, but if anyone wants to read or see more details of the book (baby center doesn't show much), check out these websites (www.katespaperie.com, www.jennibick.com or www.paperstyle.com). These sites also have some other very lovely baby album options and other high-end paper items if you are looking for good gifts.

Thanks again.

Congratulations Amanda! I love ours & I'm sure you'll be happy with yours. DD is 19 months & I'm still working on that darn book. I actually have picture copies to pick up tomorrow for it. My goal is to finish it before baby #2 - LOL.
