View Full Version : UPDATE ON NORAH!

I just got off the phone with her (6:41pm EST).

Norah had an ultrasound about an hour ago. BOTH heartbeats are good and strong!!!

She hasn't really bled at all since this morning, although when I was on the phone with her they were administering her second transfusion.

Her OB/GYN hasn't been in yet to tell her if they found the cause of the bleeding (they coulding find it at the earlier u/s either), and she's not sure what the next steps are, although she suspects hardcore bedrest at the very least. Thankfully, she's 13w along and this happened now (as opposed to a couple weeks ago when she probably wouldn't have been so lucky).

Norah said to tell everybody to calm down, thanks for the thoughts and prayers, and she will continue to update us. Once she knows what the game plan is, she will let us know if she needs anything at all.

Sarah, I asked Norah if it was OK that I posted this or if she wanted you to be "in charge". She said to go ahead and post since she didn't know if you would be calling the hospital.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. We have to get these little ones here safe and sound!

LOL, I'm not "in charge" or anything. I'm glad to see the update - I didn't want to keep calling when I knew she'd like to hear from others as well. Well wishes can really help the human spirit. Will she be kept overnight, do you know?

Phew, I'm just so glad that everything is going well.

Marisa,

Thanks for the update on Norah! Glad all is well. Send her our best.

If it's any consolation. I had some pretty strange bleeding episodes w/Nolan myself. I bled for a 24 hour period straight right around 12-13 weeks (bleeding & clots). It stopped that day & I never had any other problems. My OB never had an answer for it either. Thank goodness I had a doppler at home. :) Additionally, it's not that uncommon to bleed w/twins. My friend's twins are 4 1/2 & she bled through out her pregnancy w/them. Nerve racking!

I don't think that they'll let her go home tonight - especially after two transfusions.

She said that she wasn't sure of anything since her OB hadn't been in yet.

Christy-

Apparently it was so bad, she went to the ER TWICE via ambulance.

Here's hoping she and the little ones are OK

Yikes! I missed the first post & yours was the 1st I saw of it. Glad to hear she in under the care of the Doc's. She is in my thoughts!

I probably shouldn't even say this, but my friend (mentioned above) was flown via helicopter to Phoenix Children's hosp about 1/2 way through her pregnancy. She bled off & on & had PTL (her uterus was weak to begin with due to a septum). Her girls stayed put until 38 weeks I think it was & are now 4 1/2 & perfect in every way!

Marisa - Thanks for the update - I just read the other post and was so upset for Norah and the babies. How terrifying. I'm so glad to hear that they are hanging in there so far.
