Rash on DD face....

DD has been drooling like the dickens and has a yucky rash under her bottom lip. Does anyone know if there is anything I can put on it? I am trying to keep it as dry as possible, but she does cry when I wipe it so I would like to try and put something on it make her more comfortable.

Aquaphor, lanisoh or a little bit of neosporin all do the trick. They repel any moisture and add a protective barrier so the skin will heal.

I agree with Marisa, I'd put lansinoh on it (since she's likely to get some in her mouth). Having said that, when my DS had this problem, my ped said I could use Chapstick as a barrier--that might be less messy and easier to carry around.

I just asked our ped the same question and he said 1% hydrocortisone creme will clear it right up. I questioned whether this was ok so close to her mouth and he said that is was safe to clear up an exiting rash. I think I am going to try the other suggestions for preventing a new one.
