Prayers for Lauren needed!

[Rachels]

I spoke with Tammy (Etwahl), and Lauren is in the hospital having been diagnosed with osteomyelitis, which is a bone infection. I will keep everyone appraised of updates, but she is going to be hospitalized for at least a week and will require at least six weeks of IV antibiotics. It's too soon to know if there will be any permanent damage to her bones. Please, everyone, keep Lauren and Tammy and their family in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult and frightening time.

Please Rachel keep us all updated with fruequent updates, I took my parents to her charming town yesterday and it was such a quick stop on our way from another charming town or I would have called her and now I feel awful if she was going thru all this.

I am so sorry! I just read your post the other day how everything was going so well. I can't believe this could happen so quickly!

Lauren has had a slight fever this week, but she's also teething, so Tammy was concerned but not panicked. Then today, there was suddenly some pronounced swelling in Lauren's wrist, and they went to the ER. Lauren is being transferred to a children's hospital with an excellent reputation, and I'm sure she's going to be getting the best possible care. I will pass along everyone's good wishes to Tammy, and we'll keep you updated on Lauren's progress. Thank you all.

Rachel--if she's being transferred out of their hometown, can you PM someone in the area if there's anything that can be done for them? I think they're in the SE, and I have no idea if they would be coming to Atlanta, but if they do, I would be glad to do anything to help. I know there are several other Atlanta moms who would too.
