I know this technically belongs in the carseats/boosters forums but they just don't get much traffic.

DD is about ready to grow into a booster seat. I really want to get the Britax Bodyguard but have been warned (including by the new Toddler Bargains) that the side wings for the head freak out some kids and that DD should try it in the store first to see if she likes it. Fine. But I went to BRU and they no longer carry this seat. Supposedly chainwide. They carry all the regular Britax carseats (including the Wizard, how specialist is that?) but they stopped carrying the Britax booster because it wasn't selling.

The only other store I knew of locally that carried Britax went out of business a couple of years ago. So I'm willing to range further afield before I buy a seat my DD won't want to sit in. Does anyone know of a store in the Bay Area that sells Bodyguards?

If you don't find that anyone here has a suggestion for you, you could call Britax Directly and ask them for stores in the area that should carry the Bodyguard! If you decide against the Bodyguard I hard that they decided to continue with the Star Riser Comfy.... less in the wings dept but still a good Britax seat!

Good Luck

I would be happy with the Starriser Comfy... does anyone still sell it though?

Helen - Is there a Right Start Store in San Francisco? They carry both the StarRiser and the Bodyguard. My 6 year-old dd has been using the StarRiser since she was 4 and we love it - it is a terrific seat that is easy to use. HTH!!!

Hi,

Perhaps Lullabye Lane in San Bruno? Or Talbots Toyland in San Mateo? I know they sell britax brands carseats, but I'm not sure if they have the bodyguard...

Right Start Hmmm? I'm not sure how many are still around what with the 'bankruptcy' and all but that's worth checking into. Lullaby Lane I thought didn't sell boosters but honestly I haven't been there for 4 years so I may not remember right. These are worth a call.

Thanks everyone!

I bought a Fleurville diaper bag at a Right Start in Walnut Creek. Not sure if they have booster seats but they should be able to tell you. Have you tried Citikids in San Fran or Rockridge Kids in Oakland. They seem to have everything you want and the staff is amazingly helpful!

Helen,

There's a Right Start at Valley Fair. You could make it a combo trip and hit Vallco to check Sears for Lands End Clearance. Good luck!

Hi Helen,

Baby Super in SJ carries Britax. They are a pretty good-sized store(furniture, strollers, bedding, rockers, etc), just 5 minutes from Valley Fair. I remember seeing several Britax seats on their floor for display. You might want to call first to ask about that particular model, but I'm pretty sure I saw boosters there.

Oh gosh. I remember them! We bought our crib there four years ago. That same crib is sitting in the garage right now waiting to be picked up by the Salvation Army. See how the memory goes? :)

I knew they had carseats but didn't think they had boosters. Good, another place to call. Thanks!
