Shark Attacks in Gulf Shores

I was wondering if the recent shark attacks in Gulf Shores are concerning anyone other than me. The latest attack was on a 7 year old boy from Arkansas who was in waist deep water on July 2. Last Friday, they flew the area and spotted 30 sharks in the Gulf Shores area, when the normal number is between 3 and 5. The number was back down to 3-5 by Monday though. Is anyone else freaked out by this, or am I overreacting?

Oh no! We're going there for Thanksgiving this year (Daphne/Foley/Gulf Shores). That would definitely scare me though..i don't think you're overreacting.

Good grief! We are headed there next week, and I am freaking out now! Good thing the condo where we are staying has a pool, because I'm not feeling like getting in the ocean now! Thanks for posting this. I haven't been keeping up with the news lately.

I did not mean to freak you guys out as well! I must say though that the 7 year old is expected to make a full recovery.

That would totally freak me out of I were going there!!!! I love being AT the ocean but am terrified to be IN it if I can't see the bottom crystal clear!
