I know this is a live vaccine but I'm not sure if someone can contract Meningitis after being exposed to someone who has had the vaccine. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT a live vaccine. It's part of the Prevnar shot.

There was a thread about this approximately two weeks ago, you might want to do a search (I'd do it for you but I need to jump in the shower ;) ).

My DS has had the Prevnar shot(s). I'm curious about the adult vaccine-the vaccine that entering college students are required to get. Is that a live vaccine? Is it possible to contract Meningitis from that vaccine?

It is not a live vaccine, so no, you can't contract Meningitis from it.
