Hi everyone! We just got home from a long weekend in Disney World, and I thought I'd share the AWESOME crib that the hotel provided us (at no extra cost BTW). Normally, we just get a Pack N Play or crappy looking crib, but I was SO impressed with this one, I just have to share. :)

We stayed at Disney's Swan and Dolphin hotel. The crib was a nice white, metal travel crib on big wheels (for ease of movement). It had a real crib sheet, which was very cute in a blue and white cloud motiff. There was even a really nice white mini-crib bumper (with the nice velcro dual attachments) in the same white fabric as the awesome down comforter that was on our beds. They even included a high-quality white baby blanket. Gabe was in heaven! I would stay here again just so we can use the crib again. :)

I'll also add that we've stayed at a lot of the "deluxe" Disney resorts, and even though this one didn't "wow" me with their service, I have to say that their rooms and beds are THE best around. This was hands down the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while on vacation. The room itself was gorgeous too, designed and decorated by Michael Graves, it featured light maple furnishings, frosted blue glass accents on the dressers, brushed stainless steel lamps and hardware, modern (not cheesy) art, dual marble sinks, and even a cute Michael Graves alarm clock. Very classy.

Isn't the Swan and Dolphin owened by Starwood? We just stayed at the St. Regis in Houston last wkend and D's crib was just like that......Although the bedding was all blue. I think if they are owned by STarwood which owns Westin, St. Regis, etc....they probably offer the heavenly crib.....Westin's are known for their heavenly beds......aahhh!!! Glad Gabe enjoyed his crib. We are probably going to the Westin La Cantera in the next month so D should get another chance to sleep in the heavenly crib.......sweet dreams!

Glad you had a good experience! If you ever stay at a Four Seasons, they have excellent cribs as well. The ones at the Ritz Carlton's were a joke!

I believe all Starwood properties have that crib. If I remember correctly, it was a corporate mandate a few years back after a property provided a rickety crib and adult sheets to a guest. Fortunately the baby wasn't injured, but the story ended up on one of those news shows. I think it was 20/20.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. That is one of my favorite places to stay at Disney. You are so close to everything.

Yes, it is a Starwood property! I'm so a Starwood fan from now on!

Wow!!! What a nice crib! Starwood...gotta remember that for next time. BTW, what diaper bag(s) did you end up taking and how did it work out for you?

Well, I took several!

Alpha 7
Skip Hop
Lands End Little Tripper
Escape Pod

The Skip Hop worked great, but I ended up using the Alpha 7 more because of the backpack feature, which I ended up needing more than I thought I would. It was great for getting in and out of bathrooms easily with both hands free, and for getting on the bus and not knocking out passengers with a larger messenger bag to the face. :)

I never used the Escape Pod.

The Little Tripper stayed in the basket the first day, holding extra feedings and a sling. But I replaced it the second day with a standard Jansport backpack which also fit the stroller's rain and sun covers, ponchos for us, and other goodies. This worked really well, especially when we had to take the bus and only had to carry on the two bags and the stroller.

The stroller we took was our Kiwi E3. It was great in the parks, and the sun cover was indispensable, but it was a nightmare on the bus! We couldn't even fit it down the aisle. The Bugaboo wouldn't have been any better, the only thing that would have worked would have been an umbrella stroller. My only umbrella stroller is a Navy Zooper Z-street which is awesome, but the fabric is way too warm for a Disney trip! Oh well, next time, we'll just skip the bus and park at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts and take the ferry or monorail to the MK. I'm not compromising a comfy stroller just so that it fits on the bus. But that's just me!
