i actually thought today's guest was REALLY good! she said a few things that i have not heard were true (breastmilk lasts in the freezer for a year??? um... three months is what i hear.) BUT she disagreed with campbell when she said crazy stuff. and she made it clear that breastfeeding is hard, but worth it. and that it is best for the baby, but her last statement was "do your best." and lots of other things that i thought were good, but i have a sick DH and an active DS so i can't list all my compliments.

what did you think??

I agree. Although I was thinking of writing a letter to them to complain about their fairly immature lead in in the hour before it was aired. They were kind of giggling when introducing the topic earlier. Kind of Junior HS ish if you ask me. Otherwise I thought it was good today.

I was much happier with the segment today. I thought Dr. Brown was great!

I thought Dr. Brown was awesome. She was professional, but friendly and while she pointed out mistakes, she wasn't rude. I really like the Baby 411 book so I expected nothing less. Was a much more positive segment than even yesterdays. Yea for Dr. Brown!!

I agree about the lead in. They were being so immature. Then Matt was pushing Al around--WTF? I know the Today Show isn't serious news, but puh-leese!

This is the only thing she said that I would question. I think it may be true if you have a standalone freezer that is opened minimally. It certainly would not be true if it's kept in the freezer part of a refrig/freezer (especially if it's kept in the door).

The video is finally up on MSNBC. She did really well! Kudos! I would have clarified the freezer comment (the party line is usually 6 months in a deep freeze, 3 in a fridge freezer).

Her final comment was terrific -- she did a good job of conveying how important it is and her suggestion to "do your best" was much much better than the usual "but it's your choice."
